Kampala International University is awarding some students joining the university in January intake 2025 bursaries. These bursaries are intended to improve the literacy levels in the country. The beneficiaries are students with good academic achievements and financially challenged. According to the bursary scheme,Students pursuing programs running for less than three years will pay 50% of the tuition, 4 years and above will pay 40% and in-service students will pay only 25% of their tuition.

In this January, the university has called upon students to apply for this bursaries as soon as possible before the bursary slots run out. A student applying for the bursary must have an admission letter from KIU and a recommendation from the LC3, LC5 or the mayor. These documents are to be submitted to the university physically together with original academic documents and a passport photo. Furthermore, a copy of the payment slip of half tuition must be provided during application for the bursary. 

Medical students and students from regions with low literacy levels are highly encouraged to apply for this bursary scheme.
