The latest song of one of Uganda's legendary hit makers, Bebe cool takes the world by storm. The song, "circumference" that's of the afrobeats genre is off the album,"break the chains".

Circumference  is a love song sang in pidgin English with a nice flowing African dance rhythm good for both listening to and dancing. Circumference has left many fans of Bebe cool anticipating for the release of his album "break the chains". 

The success of circumference gives us insight into the power of the "afrobeat genre" and it's huge fan base across the globe with many afrobeat artists like Rema, Omah Lay and Burnaboy taking over global charts including the Billboard hot 100. 

However, in Uganda where Luganda is a dominant language in the music industry, this is a lesson to learn from, as artists are more accepted by an audience that understands the meaning behind the song and not just the rhythm in the song. However, this does not dismiss the value of upholding local languages in art and music as some tracks sang in local languages can still go global as long as the audience is able to grasp the meaning behind the song and its relevance. 

The success of circumference puts further meaning to the title of Bebe Cool's upcoming album "break the chainz" as it breaks international barriers and ranks highly on Spotify.
