The Uganda Medical Association, UMA, demands the killers of Dr. Olila should be swiftly brought to justice. According to UMA, the murder of Dr Olila is a very big loss to Uganda as a country and UMA. Dr. Olila is praised by the medical community as a dedicated medical practitioner with a good heart.

Dr. Olila reportedly went missing from home till a relative was notified via a phone call upon the finding of a dead body along Soroti-Lira highway at Ogolai village. The body was then identified as Dr. Olila's and then transported to Kaberamaido Hospital Mortuary for postmortem. The body was found with tied up hands and legs, dried blood were on the face which signified that the deceased suffered a violent death.

The case is registered as CRB023/2025 at Kalaki Central Police Station. The case is currently under investigation by the Criminal Investigations Department of Kalaki Central Police Station.

Dr. Olila studied and graduated from Makerere University where he obtained a medical degree (MBChB) in 2008 and a masters of Medicine (MMed) specializing in ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) from the same university. He was a surgeon at Lira Regional Referral hospital and a lecturer at Soroti University.
